As a result of the structural capacity of the Shoal Point Road Bridge (location map included below) and in the interest of protecting public safety and preserving municipal infrastructure, the bridge will be subject to load restrictions.
Effective October 30, 2026 at 12:00:01 a.m., the following maximum vehicle load limits shall apply to all traffic crossing the Shoal Point Road Bridge:
| Vehicle Classification | Maximum Gross Vehicle Weight |
| CL1 | 7 tonnes |
| CL2 | 13 tonnes |
| CL3 | 20 tonnes |
These load restrictions will remain in effect until October 29, 2031 at 11:59:59 p.m., or until the bridge is reconstructed, whichever occurs first. It is the goal of the municipality to design and reconstruct this bridge by December 31, 2028.
All vehicle operators are required to comply with the posted load limits. Regulatory signage indicating the load restrictions will be installed and maintained at the bridge approaches. Vehicles exceeding the posted limits must use an alternate route.
The purpose of these restrictions is to protect the structural integrity of the bridge, extend its service life, and ensure the continued safety of the travelling public.
