Cooling Centres in Ajax:

During periods of extreme heat, residents are encouraged to visit Town-owned facilities to cool down, stay hydrated, and take a break from the heat. Cooling centres provide access to air-conditioned indoor spaces, drinking water, and washroom facilities during regular facility operating hours.

Town Hall | 65 Harwood Ave. S.

  • Monday – Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Ajax Library- Main Branch | 55 Harwood Ave. S.

  • Monday – Friday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Saturday – Sunday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Ajax Community Centre | 75 Centennial Rd.

Summer Hours (June 27 – September 11):

  • Monday – Friday: 6 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
  • Saturday – Sunday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

McLean Community Centre | 95 Magill Dr.

  • Monday – Friday: 6 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
  • Saturday – Sunday: 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Audley Recreation Centre | 1955 Audley Rd. N.

  • Monday – Friday: 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Saturday – Sunday: 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.
