What to expect
The Town of Ajax has retained Forest Contractors Ltd for the 2026 road resurfacing project. Below is the proposed schedule for the work as provided by the contractor. Please note that the schedule is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.

Description of Work
- Remove and replace sections of concrete curb and sidewalk
- Adjust existing catch basins and maintenance holes
- Remove and replace asphalt roadway surface
- Driveway, topsoil and sod restoration, as required conditions for reference during and after the work
Pre-Construction Activities
- Utility Locates: Underground utilities (gas, water, and telecommunications) will be identified and marked prior to construction to prevent service disruptions.
- Pre-Construction Photographs: Photographs of existing roadway and boulevard conditions will be taken prior to construction to document baseline
During Construction
- Concrete Repairs: Access may be restricted if the curb is to be replaced at the bottom of your driveway or if a sidewalk bay(s) is to be replaced in front of your property. The resident will be notified a day in advance of such an event to allow for alternate parking arrangements
- Road Resurfacing: Access will be maintained to all residences however delays are to be expected. As this is a continuous operation, please ensure that vehicles are not parked on the road during construction hours. During paving operations, parked vehicles may be towed so as not to delay construction progress
- Temporary Disruptions: Residents should expect typical construction-related impacts, including minor dust, noise, and temporary inconvenience
- Traffic Management: Traffic control measures, including flagging and signage, will be in place to guide vehicles and pedestrians safely through the work zone. Minor delays should be expected.
- Parking: The Town will temporarily relax the 3-hour and overnight parking restrictions on impacted and adjacent streets; however, all other parking restrictions will remain in effect (i.e. no parking within 3 metres of a fire hydrant, within 10 metres of an intersection, etc.)
Important Notice
- Private Property: The Town is not responsible for damage to privately owned items located within the municipal right- of-way. Residents are encouraged to remove irrigation systems, landscaping, or other items in advance of construction. Every effort will be made to minimize any disturbance during construction.
- Utilities: In the event private utility services (e.g., Bell, Rogers) are impacted during construction, we kindly request the residents contact their service provider to arrange repairs at no cost.
- Deliveries: If major deliveries are scheduled, please notify the project contact in advance. The Town will make reasonable efforts to accommodate.
