To provide relief for vulnerable individuals and residents during the current heat event over the Canada Day holiday, the Town will be opening the Ajax Community Centre (ACC) as a Temporary Cooling Centre on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The cooling centre will be available from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will offer residents a safe, air-conditioned space to cool down during this period of extreme heat.
Other ways to beat the heat:
- Go for a swim at the Memorial Outdoor Pool (open on July 1)
- Cool off at one of our splash pads (open daily until 9 p.m.!):
