As the FIFA World Cup™ is set to kick off in June, the Town of Ajax is ready to celebrate with a bold and energetic tourism campaign designed to position the community as a must-visit destination during the tournament.
While fans gather in Toronto for matches and celebrations, the Town is inviting visitors and residents to extend their World Cup™ experience beyond the stadium and discover a vibrant, diverse and welcoming community filled with culture, cuisine, entertainment and natural beauty.
Opportunities for residents and businesses to participate:
- Ajax Fan Zone Kickoff Event: Presented by Medallion Corporation, join us on Friday, June 12 from 2 – 7 p.m., at The Ajax Fairgrounds (Audley Recreation Centre – 1955 Audley Rd. N.)! This kickoff event will feature entertainment, activations, food vendors and opportunities for all to come together and bring the energy for the start of the tournament.
- Made in Ajax Passport Program: Launching June 12 through August, the Made in Ajax Passport Program encourages residents and visitors to explore local restaurants, share their experiences and support Ajax businesses throughout the World Cup™ period. Participants can visit locations across Ajax, engage on social media and enter for prizes, while businesses benefit from promotional support and increased visibility.
- Discover Storefronts Transformed with Team Spirit: During the FIFA World Cup™, Ajax businesses are also invited to join a Town-wide storefront activation featuring themed window displays, decor and promotions that bring World Cup™ energy to local streets.
- Submit an Event to the Community Calendar: Businesses hosting watch parties, promotions or events are encouraged to submit details for inclusion in the Town’s community calendar. For participation or submissions, email priority@ajax.ca.
