The Town of Ajax hosts inclusive and innovative events throughout the year to celebrate the richness and diversity of our community. Below is a list of the Town’s annual and signature events.

Join us on July 1, 2026 at the NEW Ajax Fairgrounds (1955 Audley Rd. N) for Canada Day presented by MoveBuddy!

From 2-10 p.m., enjoy a variety of activities including cultural performances, children’s games and activities, interactive experiences, live entertainment, community booths & marketplace, sensory zone, food vendors, beer vendors and a special fireworks finale at 10 p.m. Visit the accordion below for more details.

This is a completely car-free event with no on-site parking. Limited accessibility parking is available at Audley Recreation Centre on a first-come, first-served basis. Accessible parking pass must be presented at the entrance. Visit the accordion below for more details.

Pat Bayly Square (75 Bayly Street W.), Ajax’s downtown urban hub, will bring a vibrant energy to the community this summer with free family-friendly concerts, children’s performances and Zumba®.

Kicking off on July 7 and running every Tuesday evening until September 1, join us for your Tuesday night entertainment. Check out the accordions below for more details!

All performances take place rain or shine. Performances will move indoors (Ajax Community Centre – HMS Room or Ajax Community Centre – Ice Pad 2) during inclement weather and admission for indoor seating is on a first come, first served basis (300 capacity). Please check the Town of Ajax social media channels after 5 p.m. for inclement weather updates. Decisions will be finalized at that time, unless otherwise posted.

Enjoy a unique, outdoor, family cinema experience projected on a giant inflatable movie screen. Admission is free (registration not required) and movie goers are encouraged to bring your own snacks, a chair, blanket and bug spray! #AjaxMovieNight

Movies will take place at dusk and will happen rain or shine (rain locations listed below).

This year, we will be showcasing 2 movies, which will be announced in May! The locations are as follows:

1. Friday, July 24 – GOAT *PG*

Ajax Community Centre Sports field (South Field) – 75 Centennial Road

Start time approx. 8:45 p.m. Rain location ACC Pad 2. (Capacity 500, first come, first served)

2. Friday, August 14 – How To Train Your Dragon *PG*

Ajax Fairgrounds – 1955 Audley Rd. N

Start time approx. 8:15 p.m. Rain Location: ARC Gymnasium (Capacity 400, first come, first served).

Take a step back in time and discover Ajax’s rich history. Join us for a guided walking tour and learn about local history from various “spirits” along the way.

Please stay tuned for more details about the 2026 event, including registration which opens in the summer.

NOTE this isn’t really a scary event, more history and heritage involving “spirits”.

Join us October 17 at the picturesque Greenwood Conservation Area (2290 Greenwood Rd.) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a variety of activities.

In addition to the live stage, we will also have children’s games and activities, interactive experiences, community displays, a vendor marketplace($), sensory zone, and our infamous haunted house! Don’t forget to trick-or-treat at the community display and exhibitor booths, visit the Elexicon Energy Haunted House and pick up your free pumpkin at the Steve & Amanda’s NoFrills Pumpkin Patch – a Pumpkinville tradition! (all while supplies last)

Kids are encouraged to dress in costume!

Leave the driving to us – take the free Pumpkinville shuttle (see information below).

Shuttle Information:

On-site parking is limited. Take the shuttle from 1 of 3 convenient locations:

GO Parking (off of O’Brien Court)

Ajax Town Hall (65 Harwood Ave. S.)

Audley Recreation Centre (1955 Audley Rd. N.)

First shuttle pick-up is 10:45 a.m. at each location and the last shuttle will leave Greenwood Conservation Area at 5:15 p.m. Shuttles will run every 20 minutes (approximately) and may vary due to unexpected circumstances, traffic and weather.

Sensory Zone:

The Sensory Zone is a designated space where others and their individual needs are respected.

We ask all Sensory Zone patrons to respect the following:

  • Be mindful of loud and sudden noises
  • Know that all activities require parent/guardian supervision and
  • Know patrons of all ages are allowed to play and enjoy the activities offered

This space will be equipped with sensory focused activities including a colouring station, inflatables and games, sensory equipment, a sheltered area, a changing station and a seating area.

Noise cancelling headphones will be available for rent(free) onsite.

Ajax residents and visitors are invited to come out and welcome Santa when he arrives in town for Santa’s Spectacle of Lights. The parade begins at the intersection of Bayly Street and Mackenzie Avenue, proceeding east along Bayly and then north on Harwood Avenue South concluding at Ajax Town Hall. Immediately following the parade will be a special tree lighting ceremony and after party at Town Hall (65 Harwood Avenue South) and Ajax Main Library.

Interested in entering a float or walking group? Applications will be open in September 2026!

2026 Route Information:

Santa’s Spectacle of Lights parade will begin at the intersection of Bayly St. and Mackenzie Ave., proceeding east along Bayly St. and will continue north on Harwood Ave. S. concluding at Ajax Town Hall (Harwood Ave. and Achilles Rd.).

Parking at Town Hall is limited and patrons are encouraged to park at the Ajax Plaza Harwood Shopping Centre or Baywood Centre. Please note all parking rules will be in effect, therefore all bylaws and rules should be adhered too.

2026 Road Closures:

Please be advised that the following roads will be closed for a portion of the day on Saturday, November 22 to accommodate Santa’s Spectacle of Lights Parade.

  • Bayly St. W. (Finley Ave. to Salem Rd.) from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
  • Harwood Ave. S.  (Birch Cres. to Emperor St.) from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
  • Mackenzie Ave. (Bayly Ave. to Clements Rd. W.) from 4 to 8 p.m.
  • Achilles Rd. (Harwood Ave. S. to Salem Rd.) from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Join us on December 31, 2026 at the Ajax Community Centre (75 Centennial Rd) for New Year’s Eve from 6 – 9 p.m.!

It’s a time of celebration and new beginnings!

The Ajax Family New Year’s Eve Party delivers a fantastic event for the whole family. This event features arts & crafts, interactive activities, an opportunity to learn to skate*, free Public Swims (6 – 8 p.m.)! Party favours are included as participants gather on the ice rink for a special countdown and balloon drop at 9 p.m. It’s a great way to ring in the New Year!

The snack bar and the Pro Shop (skate sharpening) will be opening for nominal fees($).

Nominal fees apply for food and beverages. Activities are subject to change without notice.

There is only one entrance into the event – Pad 4 entrance. Admission is free and on a first come, first served basis.  There is no re-admission once you leave.

*Note: Skates and helmets will be provided for the learn to skate, feel free to bring your own your own. Helmets are required for patrons under the age of 12.

Sensory Zone:

The Sensory Friendly Zone is a designated space, where everyone is respectful of others and their individual needs.

Location: Commodores Room

In this area we ask all patrons attending the sensory zone to abide by the following:

  • Be mindful of loud and sudden noises
  • Know that all activities require parent/guardian supervision and
  • Know patrons of all ages are allowed to play and enjoy the activities offered

This space will be equipped with sensory focused activities including a colouring station, games, sensory equipment and more!

Noise cancelling headphones will be available for rent on-site by the entrance of the event and sensory zone. This space has a capacity of 50 patrons at one time and will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Celebrate your Family Day with us at Audley Recreation Centre and Ajax Fairgrounds from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.! Families can participate in several winter-themed activities including inflatables, ice/snow painting, air brush tattoo’s, hair braiding, crafts, live entertainment, s’more making, ball hockey and local vendors($$).

Make sure to bring along some money to explore our extensive marketplace ($) and food vendors!

Parking is available but is extremely limited. Please consider taking the shuttle, more information available below.

The St. Francis Centre has quickly become a destination for arts, culture, and heritage in Ajax, and the 2025/2026 season has it all!

Truth and Reconciliation

The Town recognizes that true reconciliation requires sustained space for truth and action based on recognition of rights, respect and partnership.

An important step in rebuilding relationships with Indigenous communities is to reflect and learn more about Indigenous history as we move forward with acknowledgement and kindness as an inclusive community.
